MY BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY
Everyone should be entitled to the best medical care available,
regardless of economic position. But, however unfairly, things
don't always work out that way for those without health coverage.
So while our medical system may be up for debate, the smart
choice is to make sure one is adequately protected through health
insurance.
Essentially, insurance is peace of mind against the unforeseen,
protecting against potential financial devastation.
I am insured and sell insurance because I advocate its function
and usefulness - not as a means for the policy holder to profit
or gain, but as a means to safeguard recovery of loss.
As a profession, insurance was a natural field for me since
both my father and grandfather had chosen it before me.
My father, Arthur Fries, now an expert claims consultant, has
been my greatest influence, building his success through honesty
and dedication.
Jack Fries, my grandfather, was in the insurance business for
over fifty years before retiring. Today at the age of ninety-nine,
he happily resides in Florida and golfs three times a week!
While I subscribe to healthy living and believe in taking responsibility
for one's own well-being, I recognize the possibility of sudden
illness and accidents out of our hands. It is through such events
that one can suffer insurmountable financial loss if not protected.
Understandably, the continuous rise of health insurance costs
has left a negative impact on both insured and uninsured consumers.
But even with the changes in the industry regarding policy benefits
and premiums, I unequivocally believe in the foundation of insurance.
I observed the true power of health insurance two years ago
when one of my clients had open heart surgery. His bills totaled
over $400,000. The policy had not been in force longer than
three months, but with my client's maximum-out-of-pocket, the
insurance company paid out over $395,000, while his costs totaled
$5000.
There are countless examples of health insurance working for
the consumer. For me, these examples serve as continuous inspiration
and renewal of my belief in the power of insurance, if and when
needed.
Simply put, health insurance offers security in knowing that
for a predetermined premium, you are putting the majority of
a potential financial burden on the insurance company.
It is my goal to make sure each and every individual l speak
with has a better understanding of how insurance works, and
to make certain they are in the most cost efficient plan possible
for them. |
